At Enable (UK) we offer three main types of service:
Strategic Consultancy
- Executive Briefing (including specific information on the DDA/SENDA and how these acts will affect your organisation)
- In-depth Analysis: of legislation and litigation, the markets, the commercial issues and recommended next steps
- Review of Corporate Policy: from customer and employee perspectives. How to promote and implement web accessibility organisation-wide
Design Consultancy
- Summary Assessment web site evaluation (if site already exists)
- Report and in-depth Analysis (of an existing site) - with recommended next steps
- Accessible Web Design Training: disability guidelines training, analysis of specific sites
- Accessible Web Design Hands-on Workshop: designing accessible web sites, issues to be considered by designers, good design principles and current barriers to disabled people when using the web
- Accessibility features of web technologies: designing accessible browsers and authoring tools; designing accessible web sites (this training requires in-depth technical knowledge)
Production
- Re-versioning of current sites to ensure DDA compliance
- Creation of mirror sites (to run alongside current sites)
- Project management and/or training of an in-house team
- The complete development of a web site from conception to launch
Consultant Methodology
- Our consultants are flexible about how they work either with in-house teams or independently
- We work with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) created by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) a sub-group of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
- During consultation key deliverables are:
- A report and presentation summarising findings and recommendations at every step of the evaluation.
- Compliance with accessibility standards (and as such the right to display specific kite-marks), depending on the level of accessibility agreed at the beginning:
- W3C A, AA or AAA level
- Bobby A, AA or AAA level
